A new chapter
In 1961, Karl Starz founded Starz GmbH in Göggingen (Baden Württemberg). In 1990 the site was set up in Großräschen, where the GDR toy factory Plasticart was previously located.
The Kehrel couple took over the company in 2000 after the previous owner Karl Starz had passed away. In 2012 the company received the Future Prize for its impressive sales and employee development. Sales rose from EUR 5 million in 1999 to EUR 17.2 million in 2011. In addition, 140 new jobs and 3 locations abroad were created in 2018 file two bankruptcies due to wrong decisions by the owner.
After this so-called "business crime" and a very turbulent time with fear and uncertainty, the new Starz Elektrotechnik GmbH was founded on November 21, 2018 under new management and taken over by long-term customer ATLAS GmbH.
Production operations were resumed with 18 experienced employees and a positive outlook towards the future. The old and partly new customer base was built up independently and successfully produced in Großräschen with the passion and experience of the employees. Steady growth and a further increase in the number of employees has been recorded since the new beginning.
In December 2019, with great support from ATLAS, two employees from the management team - Ms. Cindy Kurz and Ms. Tina Unruh - took over the shares in the company and are now managing directors.
Starz Elektrotechnik GmbH now employs more than 60 people and is enthusiastic about it Company and dedication to employees, the young management would like to expand the business location in Großräschen and create even more jobs for the region.
